Senior Adult Program

Mid-Delta Senior Adults Program administers services in Monroe County with funding provided through the Central Arkansas Area Agency on Aging (CareLink).

This program promotes independence with dignity for senior citizens 60 years old or older.Transportation is provided to centers close to where participants live in Monroe County.

Center participation encourages interaction with other seniors in a community setting.  While at the center, seniors share a variety of activities such as having meals together, socialization with others, recreational activities, arts and crafts, exercise, field trips, and shopping.  These activities, in turn, promote an active environment that encourages our seniors to maintain self-sufficiency and independence.

Hot nutritious meals are provided through the Home-Delivered Meal Program.  These meals are delivered to homebound seniors Monday through Friday.  Seniors must meet eligibility guidelines for congregate and home-delivered meals.  Senior adults who do not qualify for the congregate and home-delivered meals may request contract meals for a nominal fee.

The Senior Adults Program also provides transportation for non-Medicaid participants to doctor appointments.  While helping senior adults maintain their health it also allows them to continue to be able to live in their own homes instead of an institutional setting and gives them more self-esteem.
